Hysteria only lasts for a short while, so don't think you're entirely invincible. Hysteria allows you to dish out increased damage to enemies without taking any damage yourself. If your health reaches the last rose, you can use Hysteria.

You must complete four Radula Rooms to paint a rose red. Painting a rose red and completing a chapter will add another rose to your health meter. If you are hurt, enemies may drop roses after being defeated. Health is indicated by roses and rose petals in a meter on the upper left corner of the screen. If you die this way and return to life, you must re-collect the items you may not have saved. Choose yes to return to the last area the game saved. If you lose all your health in a fight, the game will ask if you want to continue. There is a way to die a bit more permanently in this game. If you pick up some teeth or bottles and fall to your death, you will still have those with you when you come back. Everything will be where it was, or where it wasn't. If you fall to your death, you are usually transported back to the last place you stood. In the process, you may 'die' a few times. Alice: Madness Returns demands trial and error and exploration. While you are shrunk, you cannot jump, float, or attack.ĭying isn't exactly the same in this game as other games. These invisible platforms and bridges will always hold you up, but can only be seen after you shrink yourself. Not only can you see hidden drawings, but other times you can see invisible platforms and bridges. These drawings can be arrows to the correct location, or directions to reach a hidden item. This sense allows you to view hidden drawings written on walls. Shrinking gives you special Shrink Sense.

Shrinking will do a lot more for you when lost. To get into small locations, like keyholes or any other small holes, all you need to do is shrink yourself. The last move may be the most important when lost or when finding certain things, that move is Shrinking. You must twirl to continue floating in the air. While floating, you will slowly lose height as you float in the direction you jumped to. Hold the jump button to float in mid-air. This method is called 'Twirling.' Twirling is necessary when crossing big gaps, but the gaps may be too big to cross with twirling alone-this is where floating comes in.įloating will help you get across big gaps by floating across slowly.

Not only can you jump, but you can actually jump up to three more times while in mid-air. This technique only works on the first initial jump. A quick tap makes a quick jump, but holding the jump button makes a high/long jump. This all depends on how you press the jump button. Jumping is seems simple enough, but you can actually do a quick jump and a high/long jump.
